Energy Independence

Governor Culver and Lt. Governor Judge know that Iowa’s farmers can feed and fuel the world, and that Iowa’s abundant natural resources can help Iowa lead the way in national energy independence. The Culver/Judge record combines Iowa common sense with 21st century innovation, from the $100-million Iowa Power Fund, to the creation of the Office of Energy Independence, to limiting the state’s use of energy in new and existing state office buildings. Together, Iowans are meeting the global challenges related to energy conservation and production, right here at home.Solar labs at Iowa State University
