June 04, 2012

Gov. Terry E. Branstad today released the following statement from Shijiazhuang, China, on the passing of Mark Pearson:

“Yesterday, a passionate voice for the state I love was silenced. I am deeply saddened to learn of Mark Pearson's passing. Mark had a passion and love for the state of Iowa, and he was one of the hardest-working people I have known. Mark's enthusiasm for agriculture came through in every radio and television appearance he hosted. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire network of family and friends.”

Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds today released the following statement on the passing of Mark Pearson:

“Mark Pearson was a warm-hearted, compassionate and wonderful person. All of us are fortunate that Mark chose to share his talents in so many different ways. Every Iowan has been touched in one way or another through his quick wit on WHO Radio, his sound reporting on Market-to-Market, and his steady hand guiding families to their financial goals. We will miss Mark, and the thoughts and prayers of our entire administration are with his family today.”
