On April 5, 2016, Laura Belin, of The Bleeding Heartland Blog, requested certain statistics regarding the number of restoration of completed voting rights applications submitted to, and granted by, the Office of the Governor between January 14, 2011 and December 31, 2015. On April 7, 2015, our office provided a response to this open records request. No documents were redacted or withheld for this request. There was no charge for this request. On April 6, 2016, Jason Noble, of The Des Moines Register, requested certain statistics regarding the number of restoration of completed voting rights applications submitted to, and granted by, the Office of the Governor between January 14, 2011 and the date of the request. On April 7, 2016, our office provided a response to this open records request. No documents were redacted or withheld for this request. There was no charge for this request. On April 4, 2016, Ryan Foley, of The Associated Press, requested copies of letters mailed to individuals who had their voting rights restored between January 1, 2015 and the date of the request. On April 15, 2016, our office provided a response to this open records request. Redactions were made pursuant to IOWA CODE § 22.7(18). There was no charge for this request. On April 12, 2016, Jason Noble, of The Des Moines Register, requested certain information regarding the processes used to restore the voting rights of convicted felons in Iowa. On April 27, 2016, our office provided a response to this open records request. No documents were redacted or withheld for this request. There was no charge for this request. On April 15, 2016, Donnelle Eller, of The Des Moines Register, requested certain information regarding correspondence referencing the Des Moines Water Works lawsuit sent to and from Governor Terry Branstad and Chief of Staff Michael Bousselot between March 1, 2015 and April 15, 2016. On May 5, 2016, our office provided a response to this open records request. One document was withheld and one document was redacted per IOWA CODE § 22.7(18). There was no charge for this request.
