Open records information provided by the Office of the Governor in December 2011

- On average, responses were provided within 10 days

On November 28, 2011, Joseph Glazebrook, Glazebrook & Moe, LLP, requested all documents regarding Ed Fallon, Kathy Gray, and Occupy Iowa from October 9th – October 14th, 2011. On December 15, 2011, our office provided 3 CDs containing 177 emails and 16 pages in hard copy. There was a charge of $99 for spending 6 hours of staff time reviewing 1,611 emails and 60 cents for copies.

On December 2, 2011, Wallace Taylor, Legal Counsel for Sierra Club Iowa Chapter, requested all documents from January 14, 2011 – April 4, 2011 related to Governor Branstad’s Executive Order 72 – rescission of the RICE rules. On December 15, 2011, our office provided 235 emails as well as 114 pages of documents in hard copy. There was a charge of $10.40 for copies.

On December 7, 2011, Jens Manuel Krogstad, Des Moines Register, requested copies of all correspondence among Jason Glass, Linda Fandel, and Governor Branstad regarding the Education blueprint. On December 22, 2011, our office provided 103 emails and 24 pages in hard copy. There was a charge of $1.40 for copies.

On December 13, 2011, Sally Frank, Drake Legal Clinic, requested a copy of Joseph Glazebrook 11-28-11 open records request and all emails regarding Occupy Iowa, Occupy Des Moines, and Ed Fallon from October 2, 2011 – October 9, 2011. On December 20, 2011, our office provided 103 emails and 21 pages in hard copy. There was a charge of $1.10 for copies.

On December 14, 2011, Jim Walters, Iowa City, requested all documents sent to and from the Governor’s Office regarding dove hunting. On December 23, 2011, our office provided a CD with 277 emails as well as 216 pages of hard document. There was a charge of $99 for spending 6 hours of staff time reviewing 605 emails and over 400 pages in hard copy and $20.60 for copies.

On December 16, 2011, Jim Smith, Iowa State Education Association (ISEA), requested a copy of Mike Wiser’s November 17, 2011 open records request. On that same day, December 16, 2011, our office provided a CD containing 112 emails and 10 pages of documents in hard copy. There was no charge for this request.
