December 2013 Open Records Requests
On November 22, 2013, Catherine Lucey, The Associated Press, requested a of documents sent to or from Governor Branstad, Matt Hinch, Jeff Boeyink, and Tim Albrecht from Teresa Wahlert, David Roederer, and Debi Durham from June 1, 2013 – November 22, 2013 regarding calculating or analyzing job creation data in Iowa. On December 3, 2013, our office provided a CD with 6 emails. There was no charge for this request. On November 12, 2013, Tony Leys, The Des Moines Register, requested correspondence between the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the Governor regarding the Iowa Health and Wellness Plan. On December 5, 2013, our office notified the requestor that 24 documents were withheld pursuant to Iowa Code section 22.7(65), the draft exception. There was no charge for this request. On December 6, 2013, Molly Redden, Mother Jones, requested documents regarding requests for approval for Medicaid reimbursement for abortions transmitted to the Office of the Governor from July 1, 2013 – December 6, 2013. On December 12, our office responded that there were no documents responsive to this request. There was no charge for this request. On December 13, 2013, Sergio Hernandez, ProPublica, requested all emails sent to or from Tim Albrecht, Jenae Jenison and Gov. Branstad from December 1, 2013 – December 12, 2013 regarding Sergio Herndandez’ article ‘Sex Lies and HIV: When What You Don’t Tell Your Partner is a Crime.’ On December 17, 2013, our office provided a CD containing two emails. There was no charge for this request.
