On December 17, 2013, Ryan Foley, The Associated Press, requested, “(1) Copies of letters of restoration of voting rights granted from January 1, 2013 through December 16, 2013 and (2) Copies of Letters sent to individuals who had their applications returned from January 1, 2013 through December 16, 2013.”  On January 7, 2014, our office provided 29 pages in hard copy.  No documents were withheld.  There was a charge of $1.90 for copies.

 

On December 27, 2013, William Eggers, Des Moines, requested to review “Documents produced by the Governor’s Office and/or emails that contain the following keywords: ‘Iowa Juvenile Home (IJH)’ and/or ‘Girls State Training School,’ from May 1, 2013 through December 26, 2013.”  On January 28, 2014, our office provided a CD containing 22 emails and three pages in hard copy.  No documents were withheld.  There was no charge for this request.

 

On January 21, 2014, Sharon Malheiro, The Davis Brown Law Firm, requested to review the following documents from January 14, 2011 – January 20, 2014: (1) All correspondence between the Office of the Governor and Iowa Board of Medicine members regarding telemedicine and telemedicine abortion; (2) All correspondence between the Office of the Governor and the telemedicine 2010 ad hoc committee created in 2010 regarding any recommendations that the committee made to the board of medicine; (3) Any correspondence between the Office of the Governor regarding or discussing imminent peril to the public health, safety or welfare regarding the issues of telemedicine; (4) Any correspondence between the Office of the Governor regarding the adoption of the rules relating to telemedicine abortion and the administrative rules committee; and (5) Any correspondence between the Office of the Governor and outside groups regarding telemedicine abortion”  For emails, the requester requested all emails to be searched with the following search terms, “telemedicine and abortion” or “webcam and abortion.”  On January 30, 2014, our office notified the requester that there were no documents responsive to this request.  There was no charge for this request.
