  1. The Department of Justice, Attorney General’s office requests retention of outside counsel pursuant to Iowa Code section 13.3(1) in Steven Porter  v. Iowa State Fair, State of Iowa and Second Injury Fund of Iowa,  a workers’ compensation case filed by a state employee.

  1. Emergency Allocations

  1. Department of Natural Resources is requesting a supplemental emergency allocation in the amount of $2,250.37. On August 28, 2015 Brushy Creek State Recreation Area trails were damaged due to flooding.  Request is to cover repair costs and will now total $11,563.88.

 

The State Auditor’s Office has reviewed this request and recommends allocation, subject to audit of actual invoices.

 

  1. Department of Corrections, Anamosa State Penitentiary is requesting an emergency allocation and payment in the amount of $8,628.38.  On August 18, 2017 fire caused damage at the Anamosa State Penitentiary to dryer and contents.  Request is to cover repairs.

 

The State Auditor’s Office has reviewed request and recommends allocation and payment in the amount of $8,128.38 disallowing a “donation” of $500.00 to the Anamosa Fire Department.  This will represent full and final payment and this allocation will be closed.

The Executive Council met in regular session at 10:00 a.m. in Room G09 of the Capitol Building with Governor Kim Reynolds presiding.  Secretary of State Paul Pate (via telephone), Auditor of State Mary Mosiman, Treasurer of State Michael Fitzgerald and Secretary of Agriculture William Northey were present.

Moved by Treasurer Fitzgerald and seconded by Auditor Mosiman that the Council approve the minutes of the Executive Council meeting held December 4, 2017.
