Today, Gov. Kim Reynolds signed into law SF 2430, a bill relating to the display of flags at half-staff on public buildings.
“In the aftermath of a tragedy, lowering flags allows communities to come together in mourning and to honor those who have made a great impact on our state or nation,” said Gov. Reynolds. “The changes this legislation makes will ensure flags across Iowa fly at half-staff when officially ordered, acting as a symbol of respect for those whose lives and service deserve such recognition.”
Gov. Reynolds also signed the following bills into law:
HF 640: A bill for an act concerning self-storage facilities, including acceptances and defaults of rental agreements.
HF 766: A bill for an act relating to motor vehicle window tint, and making penalties applicable.
HF 777: A bill for an act relating to applications for a motor vehicle salvage certificate of title by an insurer without surrendering the certificate of title or manufacturer’s or importer’s statement of origin, making penalties applicable, and including effective date provisions.
HF 907: A bill for an act requiring the Department of Transportation to provide for the registration of noncommercial fleet vehicles and issue special noncommercial fleet vehicle registration plates.
HF 1003: A bill for an act relating to child placements.
HF 1036: A bill for an act relating to human trafficking, including screening children, civil statues of limitations, an annual stakeholder meeting and report, depositions of victims, restitution, restorative facilities and protective services, and investigation and prosecution, and including effective date provisions.
HF 2185: A bill for an act relating to cost sharing for health savings accounts and qualified high-deductible health plans.
