Effective today, Lt. Governor Adam Gregg has been selected to again chair the Midwest Region on the National Lieutenant Governors Association’s (NLGA) Executive Committee, becoming one of four regional chairs of the association. He previously served on the NLGA Executive Committee from July 2018 to July 2019, and chair of the midwest region beginning July of 2019.
“I am honored to again serve as Midwest Chair and represent our state on the Executive Committee of the National Lieutenant Governors Association,” said Lt. Gov. Gregg. “Multi-state dialogue and cooperation is more important now than it ever has been. In this role, I will continue to ensure Iowans’ voices are heard, while also sharing best practices and learning from my colleagues from across the country.”
“Lt. Gov. Gregg’s peers find the Lt. Governor to be an engaged leader who works across state and party lines to develop and share ideas from rural economic development, to criminal justice reform,” said NLGA Director Julia Brossart.
The committee meets three times a year and is responsible for charting the course of issues to be pursued by the nation’s second-highest state officeholders. In addition to its specific duties, the committee will also address issues of mutual concern to all states and territories.
The NLGA is a professional association for the Lieutenant Governors in all 50 states and the U.S. territories. Gov. Kim Reynolds is a former chair of NLGA, serving from July 2015 to July 2016.
